Tipsi (“Tipsi”, “we”, “us”) provides software that lets hospitality venues take orders, manage their menu, accept payments and view analytics, via the Tipsi Merchant app and the Tipsi web platform at tipsi-app.com. Who this applies to
The Tipsi Merchant app is a business tool for venue owners and their staff. This policy covers data we process about venue account holders and staff, and order data we process on a venue’s behalf when their guests place orders.
Information we collect
- Account details — name, email address, phone number and venue details you provide when you sign up.
- Sign-in data — if you use Sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name and email from that provider to create your account.
- Payment & payout information — handled by our payment processor, Stripe. We do not see or store full card numbers or bank details; Stripe provides us your account’s verification status and payout state.
- Order data — items, prices, table numbers and order status processed for your venue. Guests may provide an email/phone for order confirmations.
- Device & notification data — push notification tokens and basic device information so we can send order alerts.
- Usage data — limited technical logs to keep the service reliable and secure.
How we use information
- To provide and operate the Tipsi service (orders, menu, payments, analytics).
- To verify your identity and enable payouts through Stripe.
- To send order alerts and service notifications.
- To provide support, prevent fraud and abuse, and keep the platform secure.
- To comply with our legal obligations.
Service providers we share data with
We use trusted processors who handle data on our behalf, under contract:
- Stripe — payments, identity verification and payouts.
- Supabase — secure database and authentication hosting.
- Resend — transactional email (e.g. account confirmation, order receipts).
- Expo — push notification delivery.
- Apple / Google — only if you choose their sign-in.
We do not sell your personal data.
Data retention
We keep account and order data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, then for any period required to meet legal, tax or accounting obligations. You can request deletion at any time.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account and associated data directly in the Tipsi Merchant app, under Settings, or by emailing info@tipsi-app.com. Some records may be retained where required by law (for example, transaction records held by Stripe).
Your rights
Depending on your location (including under the UK GDPR and EU GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, email info@tipsi-app.com.
Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and review our practices regularly.
Children
Tipsi Merchant is a business tool intended for adults operating licensed venues. It is not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and revise the “Last updated” date above.
